Orders quantity input fields
In MarvelChart, all the order quantity setting boxes have similar characteristics and are drop-down boxes, that is, they have more choices in addition to the visible one. These boxes always include 5 elements:
Quantity/Amount label - Indicates how the order quantity will be calculated;
Quantity or Amount value - This is the directly editable field of the box. You can also change the value using the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys on the keyboard, to increase and decrease the value respectively, or the mouse wheel;
Buttons to increase/decrease the value of Quantity or Amount - Clicking on the up arrow will increase the value of Quantity or Amount. Clicking on the down arrow will decrease the value of Quantity or Amount;
Button to change the mode, between Quantity and Amount;
Button to open the [additional settings] panel (#Additional-settings).
MarvelChart stores the settings of these boxes for each symbol used, in order to allow faster entry of further orders on the same symbol.
Quantity calculation mode
In MarvelChart there are two distinct modes to calculate the quantity of a new order, Quantity or Amount.
In Quantity mode the quantity of the order will be directly equal to the value shown in the box.
In Amount mode the value shown in the box corresponds to the counter value of the order. The order quantity will then be calculated starting from the Last price of the selected symbol, so that the order Amount corresponds to the value shown in the box.
Additional settings
In this panel there are several 6 buttons that allow you to quickly set the order quantity. In Quantity mode these buttons have the values:
1, 5, 25, 100, 500, 1000.
In Amount mode the values of the 6 buttons are:
100, 500, 2500, 10000, 50000.
The first time you click on one of these buttons the corresponding value is immediately set as the order quantity, while any other subsequent click increases the value of the quantity box 2 by adding the value of the button to the previous one. The Clear button 7 resets the quantity value to zero.
The last parameter you can set is Spin Increment 8, which determines how much the value in the quantity box 2 is increased or decreased when you click the 3 buttons, when you use the Up Arrow and Down Arrow keys on your keyboard, or when you use the mouse wheel.
For example, if the quantity set 2 is 100 and I want to increase by 50 units with each click, I set the Spin Increment box 8 to 50. At the first click on the 3 button the quantity will become 150.
