Keyboard Trading

By activating the Keyboard Trading function, you can send market orders extremely quickly and easily directly from the Chart. With the function active, simply position the mouse cursor at the desired price level and press a key or a combination of keys on the keyboard to send a new market order. Moving the mouse cursor on the Chart displays a preview of the price level at which the order will be entered. This function displays a panel at the top of the Chart where you can configure the main parameters of the orders. These are:

  1. Quantity/Countervalue - Setting the quantities or countervalue of the orders. See the chapter Orders quantity input fields for more information;

  2. Brackets - Selection of the type of Brackets orders to associate with the new orders to be sent to the market. The possible choices are:

  • No TP/SL - No Take Profit and Stop Loss orders will be created;

  • Points - The Take Profit 3 and Stop Loss 4 parameters will indicate the distance expressed in points compared to the entry price of the main order;

  • Amount - The Take Profit 3 and Stop Loss 4 parameters will indicate the distance expressed as a counter value compared to the entry price of the main order;

  • Percentage - The Take Profit 3 and Stop Loss 4 parameters will indicate the distance expressed as a percentage compared to the entry price of the main order;

  1. Take Profit - Take-Profit value for Bracket orders to associate with the new orders to be sent to the market. The meaning of the Take Profit value depends on the type of Brackets orders selected in the 2 drop-down box;

  2. Stop Loss - Stop-Loss value for Bracket orders to be associated with new orders to be sent to the market. The meaning of the Stop Loss value depends on the type of Brackets orders selected in the 2 drop-down box.

The type of order sent to the market depends on the key pressed on the keyboard. The valid key combinations are as follows:

  • B - Sends a Buy order, Limit if the mouse cursor is below the Last price, Stop if the mouse cursor is above the Last price;

  • S - Sends a Sell order, Limit if the mouse cursor is above the Last price, Stop if the mouse cursor is below the Last price;

  • Ctrl + B - Sends a Buy Market order;

  • Ctrl + S - Sends a Sell Market order;

In addition to entering new orders, there are also functions for managing active orders and Open Positions:

  • X - Deletes all active orders on the Chart;

  • F - Closes the current Open Position. If the current Open Position is Long, sends a Sell Market order, while if the current Open Position is Short, sends a Buy Market order;
